Commercial work

As well as the world renowned research institute, the Moredun Group also encompasses two commercial companies:

Moredun Scientific is the commercial arm of the Moredun Group and provides contract and collaborative research, IP commercialisation, biosafety testing and manufacturing services. 

Pentlands Science Park Ltd is the home of the Moredun Group and provides conference facilities and a supported environment for over 20 commercial tenants involved in biotechnology and related industries.

Moredun also provides a number of services and has formed a number of spin out companies: 

 Moredun’s Proteomics Facility supports research within Moredun as well as providing specialist support for other researchers and businesses working in the complex area of proteomics. 

Moredun's Surveillance Services, in partnership with the SAC's Veterinary Services, provide a specialist service to diagnose, monitor and horizon scan for livestock diseases in Scotland.

Genecom was established by Moredun in partnership with the Roslin Institute and the Institute for Animal Health to help facilitate their knowledge transfer activities and maximise the value of their intellectual property and research capabilities.

Inocul8 is a vaccine development company focused on the commercialisation of Moredun's research in order to yield high impact livestock vaccines both in Scotland and globally.

The Genomia Fund funds commercialisation of public sector research in the bio-sciences.
