Sheep scab seriously affects the welfare of sheep and has a significant financial impact through its effect on the condition of ewes, the growth rate of lambs and reduced quality of sheepskins.

At this meeting, Dr Peter Bates will highlight the problem of sheep scab, the treatments available and how you can safeguard your flock from this disease. Dr Alasdair Nisbet from Moredun will then provide information about new research that has lead to the development of a new test which detects infested animals before the onset of clinical symptoms. They will be joined by Alan Wight from AHVLA Winchester who will talk about scab incidence in the local area and the importance of obtaining a definate diagnosis.

This meeting is an accredited CPD event for SQPs and has been awarded 16 CPD points by AMTRA.

Admission is free and open to all. For further information please contact Maggie Bennett or Hazel Rice on 0131 445 5111 or email info@moredun.org.uk
